Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra vs Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Router 5G Max

System Config Backups for UniFi Cloud Gateways cover OS, application and device configuration, with automated weekly cloud backups and offline backup files.

Ubiquiti lists Multi-Link Operation as available on a WiFi 7 access point or a WiFi-integrated Cloud Gateway supporting WiFi 7, enabled per SSID in Settings > WiFi.

The tech specs list internet quality and outage reporting.

UniFi consoles expose a Debug Console and SSH access, enabled in Settings > Control Plane > Console.

SNMP v1/v2c and v3 monitoring is enabled in UniFi Network under Settings > CyberSecure > Traffic Logging.

A Policy Engine object scoped to selected devices can apply complete Internet isolation immediately, without waiting for a schedule.

UniFi's Policy Engine applies an optional time-based schedule to any rule, so internet access for a device or group can be cut on a timetable.

UniFi gateways add Dynamic DNS entries in the Internet settings of UniFi Network, with providers such as Cloudflare, DynDNS, Namecheap and No-IP.

There is no cellular modem in the unit. The tech specs offer additional internet failover only through UniFi LTE Backup, which is a separate accessory.

UniFi Network creates guest networks with network isolation, client isolation and an optional hotspot portal, and the Zone-Based Firewall on UniFi Cloud Gateways ships a built-in Guest zone.

Ubiquiti documents that the UniFi Zone-Based Firewall groups networks into LAN, WAN, Guest and IoT zones, so smart home devices get their own segment.

Wireless meshing is enabled in UniFi Network under Settings > WiFi > Wireless Meshing, with UniFi access points uplinking wirelessly to a mesh parent.
