These counts describe the available data, not a quality score. More features do not automatically make a better device.
Consider your setup
Confirm which features appear in Apple Home and whether extra hardware or a subscription is needed for your intended use.
Inspect the specificationsConsider your setup
Confirm the exact device type and the features exposed in your chosen platform. Protocol support does not establish feature parity across apps.
Inspect the specificationsYour priorities, side by side
Mark the specifications you care about. Open manufacturer sources for verification scope; fields without citations remain catalog data. Expand notes for other qualifications.

Connects straight to the home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with no hub, and the setup guide asks for a 2.4 GHz network.
Bluetooth is used to commission the valve into a smart home app. The CSA listing for the control module is Matter over Wi-Fi with Bluetooth.
Z-Wave 700 series with Z-Wave Long Range (version 2.0 of the ZAC36), S2 Authenticated security and SmartStart. It controls remotely only through a Z-Wave hub, and the wired leak probe works with no hub at all.
Closes the valve automatically when a paired EcoNet leak sensor reports water, and Matter apps can add their own automations.
Closes automatically when a paired Z-Wave leak sensor reports water, through the hub's automations.
EcoNet lists Amazon Alexa, with Echo Dot (3rd gen and later), Echo Studio and Echo Show as compatible Matter controllers. Needs a Matter controller (hub or speaker) on the home network.
Zooz says Alexa speakers have no Z-Wave radio and reach Z-Wave devices through a compatible hub such as SmartThings or Hubitat.
EcoNet lists Apple Home, with HomePod, HomePod mini and Apple TV as Matter controllers. Apple Home has no water valve device type, so the valve is expected to appear as a switch. Needs a Matter controller (hub or speaker) on the home network.
EcoNet lists Google Home, with Nest Mini, Nest Hub and Nest Wifi Pro as compatible Matter controllers. Needs a Matter controller (hub or speaker) on the home network.
Zooz says Google speakers have no Z-Wave radio and reach Z-Wave devices through a compatible hub such as SmartThings or Hubitat.
Works through Matter. Home Assistant is a Matter controller, and Matter devices can be added to several controllers at once.
The Z-Wave JS device database lists the ZAC36 (Zooz Titan Water Valve Actuator) and Zooz lists Home Assistant among its compatible hubs.
The EVC400-MW supports Matter over Wi-Fi.

Document check only; not a hands-on test or verification of every regional or firmware variant.
Matter over Wi-Fi, certified by the CSA in January 2025 (Matter 1.0). The certification lists the control module as a WIFI Relay Controller Board with the On/Off cluster, so a Matter app may show the valve as a switch or plug rather than as a water valve.
Works through Matter. EcoNet lists SmartThings 2018 and 2015 hubs and the Aeotec Smart Home Hub as compatible Matter controllers.
Zooz lists SmartThings as a compatible hub and publishes an Edge driver for the ZAC36.
A built-in temperature sensor (-40 to 257 F) can trigger custom alerts and automations when temperatures drop near freezing.
Works on its own without a smart home hub or an internet connection, and links up to 20 EcoNet leak sensors directly, so a wet sensor closes the valve with no cloud in between.
The included wired leak probe closes the valve even if the hub or all wireless communication is down, so it works as a standalone leak stop.
Wired leak sensor kits are an optional accessory for spots such as a washing machine or water heater.
Includes a 4.75 ft wired water probe on a 3.5 mm input, extendable with a headphone-type extension cable. After a leak the valve stays closed until you press the button.
EcoNet sells an optional battery backup kit (12 V / 5 V, 3000 mAh) that keeps the system working for up to 24 hours in a power outage.
Zooz sells an optional backup battery pack (smart power bank) that keeps the Titan powered during an outage and shuts the valve off before the battery runs dry.
Powered by a 12 V DC adapter that plugs into the control module. The motor connects to the module with a cable of about 9.8 ft (3 m).
Runs on the included 12 V DC, 1 A power supply (ETL certified) with a 9.5 ft cord. If power is lost the actuator stays in its last position.
Zooz states 6 N·m, and says it stress-tested the actuator for more than 20,000 actions at 8 N·m of resistance. A normal valve needs about 1.5 to 3.5 N·m.
The kit includes two mounting brackets for ball valves from 3/4" to 1-1/2". Quarter-turn ball valves with a handle only, not gate valves. Alternate mounting kits cover other sizes, from 1/2" to 2".
Quarter-turn ball valves only, not gate valves or 180 degree valves, and not CPVC pipe. It needs 3 in of clearance each side of the valve center, 1.25 in between the handle and the pipe and 1 in between the pipe and the wall.
Check-in mode turns the valve about 1/8 of a turn on a schedule you set with the Auto Test parameter (every 30 days, for example) to confirm it still moves.

The table matches specifications by section and field. It preserves notes, separates missing data from explicit “No” values, and keeps qualifications attached to their values. No overall winner is assigned from feature counts.
